Ex-deputy Sentanced to Three Years in Prison

GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - A former Harrison County sheriff's deputy has been sentenced to three years in prison on a guilty plea in a child pornography investigation.
   
Circuit Judge Larry Bourgeois sentenced 50-year-old Mike Chauvin on Monday.
   
The Sun Herald reports (http://bit.ly/vUyGZY ) Chauvin was employed by the sheriff's department as a school resource officer at North Woolmarket Elementary when he was accused of having child pornography on his home computer in October 2009.
   
The newspaper says Chauvin was about a week from retiring after a 24-year career with the sheriff's department.
