3 accused of threatening informants in meth case

GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - Three Mississippi residents have pleaded not guilty to charges they conspired to retaliate against confidential informants in an investigation of meth activity by members of the Simon City Royals street gang.
   
The Sun Herald reports (http://bit.ly/rKQoRn ) Ervie Lee Fairbanks, Chasity Arulize Huff and Yvette Janel Hayden are being held for federal marshals after the court deemed them a serious risk to the safety of others.
   
They were arraigned Monday after indictment on seven charges that accuse each of them of obstructing justice in Harrison County and threatening physical harm in threats made by cell phone calls, text messages and posts on Facebook.
   
Magistrate Judge Robert H. Walker set trial before District Judge Sul Ozerden, whose next court calendar starts Jan. 9.
