A Marion county man is in jail for shooting his wife.
Susan Smith of Marion County was fatally shot by her husband Troy Smith Thursday. Smith claims he was playing with a pistol when it went off and shot his wife.
He then took his wife to Marion General Hospital where she was treated and later transported to Forrest General Hospital where she died. Smith is currently being held at the Marion County jail on a charge of manslaughter.
