Forrest Co. jury to hear starvatiion case

MCCOMB, Miss. (AP) - Pike County Circuit Court officials have
decided that a jury from Forrest County will hear the capital
murder case involving the alleged starvation death of a 2-year-old
boy.
The trial of 24-year-old Thomas Kelly is scheduled to start
March 22, when Pike court officials will go to Hattiesburg to
select a jury.
Prosecutors will seek the death penalty.
The defense requested a jury from outside the area. The trial
will then be held at the courthouse in Magnolia.
Kelly was indicted for capital murder and conspiracy, along with
27-year-old Kimberly Hood in the May 16, 2008, death of Hood's son,
Markqice Hood.
The McComb Enterprise-Journal said Kimberly Hood's trial is
scheduled in September.
