Weekend Arrest Lands Two Behind Bars in Jones County for Meth

Jones County Narcotic Investigators received information that was helpful in placing two suspects behind bars for Methamphetamine Saturday.

Sheriff Alex Hodge said Sergeant Ellis Smallwood conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near 84 West in Calhoun occupied by 25 year old Joseph Shelton and 24 year old Jessica Allen both of Jones County.

Hodge said, “Through the cause of the investigation; Deputy Smallwood discovered a firearm inside the vehicle and shortly thereafter located an ice chest in the trunk of the vehicle containing several precursor chemicals and numerous items of paraphernalia.

In addition; an undetermined amount of Methamphetamine was discovered.

Both suspects were arrested and booked in the Jones County Adult Detention Facility for possession of Meth and possession of precursors with intent to manufacture while in possession of a firearm.
