"Look at the district and figure out where the fault lines are."
That would be James Bacchus' first move if he is selected as superintendent.
"Certainly we'll look to see how we could be more efficient as a district. How we can continue to do things that's working well."
The community submitted questions to each finalist.
When asked about performing arts in school, Bacchus said that they make students more well rounded.
"We have to connect our students to learning and they have to see the purpose of learning."
Interim superintendent and finalist Jimmy Hopkins agreed.
"I was not a candidate for the Heismann. I was 1st trumpet player in the highschool band."
Hopkins also addressed how he would motivate teachers.
"By celebrating their achievements. By giving them proper resources. By encouraging to know that they have the capacity to bring about changes in childrens lives."
Joseph White also talked about influencing childrens lives.
"We do the best that we can but the overall goal is to graduate our children and get them ready to go out into the workforce as productive citizens."
To do that, White believes their should be more communication.
"From school to school. From the district office to each school to make sure that we have that communication process in place."
School board members will communicate among themselves in the next few days about the finalist.
A decision could be made before the end of the year.
