One Vehicle Accident Sends One Man to Jones County Jail

Jones County Deputies responded to an accident shortly after noon Wednesday concerning a one vehicle accident on Dace Town Road in Ellisville.

Sheriff Hodge said it is believed that the driver of the Chevrolet Truck lost control of the vehicle causing him to leave the roadway hitting several pine tree stumps. The 18 year old passenger of the vehicle suffered serious injuries and was transported to South Central Regional Medical Center by Em-Serv Ambulance Services.

Deputy Johnel Rogers said the driver of the vehicle, 65 year old Joseph Spells of the 100 block of Dace Town Road of Ellisville refused the intoxylyzer 8000 test; a device used to analyze the alcohol content on the breath.

Joseph Spells was arrested for Dui-2nd offense, test- refusal, wreckless driving, driving while license suspended, and no proof of insurance.

He was transported and booked in the Jones County Adult Detention Facility.
