A traffic stop conducted by Deputy Chris Livingston resulted in the arrest of a Popularville man Friday night.

Sheriff Alex Hodge said Deputy Chris Livingston received reports of a wreckless driver operating a Dodge Dakota blue in color on I-59 Friday night around 11pm. Shortly thereafter; Deputy Livingston attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle near the 93 marker but the driver refused to stop immediately. The driver was later identified as 23 year old Glen Stevens, Jr. of Poplarville.

After further investigation; Hodge said Deputy Livingston discovered that the vehicle was reportedly stolen from Lauderdale County.

Glen Stevens, Jr., was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property, no tag, and careless driving and booked in the Jones County Adult Detention Facility.
