HPD Continues Search for Suspect in Double Murder

Hattiesburg police say they are searching for the person who killed mother and daughter, Alesia and Anjelica Twillie. The women were 49 and 26 years old, respectively.

The women were found dead in their home on Dabbs Street early Monday morning. Police say they almost arrested the suspect, but he escaped. A weapon has been recovered, but police would not elaborate how the women died or what type of weapon was recovered.

Relatives say the two women were shot several times. They also say Anjelica was 7-months pregnant with her second son. They say her 1-year old son was at home at the time of the murders, but he was unharmed.

These are the first murders of Hattiesburg for the year.
